Dr Josu De La Fuente
Background
Professor de la Fuente is internationally recognised for his pioneering work in haematological innovation and research. He is a consultant haematologist and director of the paediatric bone marrow transplant (BMT) programme, and professor of practice (gene and cellular therapy) at Imperial College London.
He is also the vicechair of Paediatric Diseases Working Party of European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, a co-director of the VGC2 consortium, a member of the steering committee of the BMT CTN 1507 trial and a chief investigator and adviser of gene editing and therapy trials for thalassemia and sickle cell disease, and novel agents for red cell disorders.
