We provide private healthcare to your child if he or she has any haematology disorder, including:

• anaemia – all types
• inherited bone marrow failure syndromes
• sickle cell disease
• easy bruising or bleeding
• thalassaemia, covering abnormalities of red cells that carry haemoglobin and oxygen; white cells that fight infections; and the blood stream’s platelets and proteins that prevent bleeding or cause clotting.

We are the largest bone marrow transplant unit in the UK for non-malignant blood disorders – principally abnormalities of blood production.

For children with sickle cell disease and thalassaemia, we have a 95 per cent success rate in transplants from family members. We were the world’s first team to deliver transplants from parents who are only a 50% match. Most other hospitals require mothers and fathers to be a 100% match.

Through continual research and by adapting treatments for specific children, we have introduced less toxic approaches to bone marrow transplantation and we accept non-family donors for non-malignant conditions. Our in-depth diagnostic services, advanced MRI techniques and biopsies mean we are able to substantially reduce the risk of complication or damage to the body.
